Toronto was, alas, our final stop in Canada before our flight home and into married life. The weather remained true to the end and we were blessed with fantastic sunshine throughout the short trip from Kingston - even though we arrived at night.
The municipal workers strike was entering its second week as we arrived and we were expecting the streets to be dirty but generally things were much cleaner than, say, London or Leeds. When faced with a wealth of things to do we opted for the little of everything approach to cram as much in as possible so we walked, and walked, and walked some more.
On our travels we gazed up from the foot of the CN Tower - a decided nervousness of heights (shamefully on Will's part) meant that we didn't go up on the first day in town, then on the final day we didn't have enough time to queue and reach the top - probably the only regret of the trip - but then we've now always got an excuse to go back. This was located next to the famous SkyDome baseball stadium.
Our time in Toronto was shortened by one last trip round the coast to Niagara Falls and the chane to drive along the river to Niagara on the Lake (a trip described as the 'prettiest Sunday drive in the world' and not without good reason). Plus there was a little shopping to be completed.....
Even when the car was dropped off at the airport the sun was shining and the last day was spent in beautiful surroundings. Bright and beautiful - a very fair summary of our time in Canada.

Our hotel was in Chinatown about 5mins from Downtown. |
The city generally felt very modern and extremely busy, but not without its own charms. |
||
|
And was a fantastic blend of modern and ... |
...older buildings. |

|
The CN Tower - At 1815ft it's the tallest freestanding structure in theworld and home of the highest observation platform in the world - complete with glass floors. |
The new City Hall overlooking Nathan Phillips Square which transforms into a skating rink in winter. |

On the trip to the zoo it was all too hot for some (but not Helen of course!). |
We even got to see our first native wildlife! There are about 120 Moose scuptures around the city represneting different groups or attractions. These are the Animal Moosaic (Toronto Zoo) and the Tourist Moose. |
and Finally
Finally we have to finish off with a huge "Thank You" to all of those who helped out during the planning stages, to those who helped us celebrate on the day (whether in person or thoughts) and to those who have helped since. We hope you've enjoyed this site and look forward to hearing from you all soon.
